The illustrious Gerald Warner didn’t really pierce my bubble of awareness until a few days ago. This article was handily tweeted by Dr Ben Goldacre, author of the excellent Bad Science pointing out the obvious contradiction contained within. When I was done laughing at that, another article caught my eye. This one was discussing the recent bad weather, and rather predictably, the climate, if you’re the type to distinguish between the two. Yup, apparently there’s a chance that climate and weather are the same thing, quite contrary to what they tell you in the most basic of school lessons. The argument?
Another ploy calculated to appeal to the “sophisticates”. “If you knew the first thing about it, you would not make the basic mistake of confusing weather with climate…” Zzzz… Coming from a bunch of clowns who have confused heat with cold, drought with snow, and fact with fiction – that is rich.
That’s right. The old “Nyah, nyah, you are stupid and smelly” technique. It seems a little pointless debating with someone like this, hence the strip. Perhaps I’m a little jealous that he makes a living peddling his pap when I can’t, eh?
